Community & trustCoverage, options, and how riding with us works
Whether your ride is covered by Virginia Medicaid, paid privately, or part of a daily school route — here's what to expect.
Medicaid-covered rides: how it works
Non-emergency medical transportation is a covered Virginia Medicaid benefit for eligible members who have no other way to get to covered health services.
Who is eligible
Generally, full-benefit Virginia Medicaid members (including many managed-care plan members) who have no working vehicle, no license, or a condition that prevents driving or using public transit.
How rides are scheduled
Medicaid rides are booked through your health plan's transportation line or the state's NEMT broker — typically several business days before your appointment. Urgent trips, like hospital discharges, follow a faster process.
What's covered
Trips to Medicaid-covered services: doctor visits, dialysis, behavioral health, therapy, pharmacy pickups after appointments, and more. Mileage reimbursement may also be available if a friend or family member drives.
Reliable medical transportation, no insurance required
Not every ride goes through insurance. Our private-pay service covers everything Medicaid doesn't — with the same trained drivers and door-to-door standard.
- Doctor, dental, and vision appointments for private-pay passengers
- Outpatient procedure pickups (many facilities require an escorted ride home)
- Family visits, errands, salon, and quality-of-life trips for seniors
- Written quotes up front — per-trip or discounted recurring schedules
Daily rides to and from school
We provide safe, consistent daily transportation for students — including students with mobility needs or IEP-related transport arrangements made with families and districts.
- Same driver and schedule every school day for consistency
- Guardian notification at pickup and drop-off
- Wheelchair-accessible vehicles available
- Background-checked drivers trained in student passenger safety
